Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Santana Row (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santana Row has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Santana Row!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Santiago!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Roberts and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santiago will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Santiago shoots for a double leg takedown but Row sprawls well. He's pushed Santiago's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Santiago misses with a takedown attempt - Row sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Santana Row has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Santiago.

Santiago works Row's body with a nice hook.

Santiago shoots in looking for a takedown but Row manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Santiago's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

It looks like Santana Row has been cut.

Santiago throws a leg kick but Row sees it coming and moves out of range.

Row displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Santiago.

Santiago closes the distance and clinches up with Row, looking for a takedown. Santiago pushes Row against the cage but Row circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Santiago shoots in for a takedown but Row shows good takedown defense.
Row wants to clinch
and Santiago counters with a left and a right that stings Row.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Row closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Santiago looks gassed!

Row wants to lay and pray for a moment but Santiago keeps working.

Santiago throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Row wants to take a breather but Santiago is having none of it.

Santiago really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Row. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Row trying to control the position but Santiago is working away.

Row stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Santiago shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Row dives in and scores a takedown into Santiago's guard.
Row wanted to stand there but Santiago had control of the position.

Row thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Row looking to sit in guard and control but Santiago gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Santiago postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Daniel Santiago will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Horrible takedown by Row or perhaps it was just good defense by Santiago which made him look bad.

Row has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Santiago after a bit of a struggle.

Santiago gets control of Row's arms and successfully pulls guard. Santiago will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Row got a little sloppy there for a moment and Santiago has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Row has managed to get both his arms back between Santiago's legs - danger averted.
Row wants to stand but Santiago has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Santiago pushes Row off and scrambles back to his feet.
Santiago stuffs the takedown attempt from Row. Row gets slowly back to his feet.
Santiago shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Row but Row pushes him off and we're back to square one.
The fight stays on the outside here - Row looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Row throws a head kick but Santiago moves out of range.

Santiago tries to clinch up but Row circles away and keeps his distance.
Santiago tries to score a power double leg takedown but Row sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Santiago somewhat.

Row tries to pass the half guard into mount. Santiago knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Santiago is not content to let Row control the position.
Row wants to stand up but Santiago manages to regain full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Santiago pulls Row in close to his closed guard and prevents Row from doing any damage or advancing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Santana Row will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Santiago throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Row blocks it with crossed arms.
Santiago tries to pull guard but Row holds him up against the cage and eventually Santiago drops back down to his feet.

Santiago is pressed up against the cage. Row has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Santiago down to the mat. Santiago avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Row fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Row tries to clinch there but Santiago circles away.
Santiago stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Santiago wants it to stay on the feet.
Santana Row is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

I think Santiago has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
