Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dirty Sanchez! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Moa Soto! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez lands an overhand right. Sanchez jabs Soto right on the nose. Soto blinks but takes it well. Sanchez scores with a punch to the head. Sanchez uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Soto. Soto throws a right hand that Sanchez ducks under and follows up with a left that Sanchez also avoids with ease. Sanchez gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Soto misses with a body shot.
Soto misses the jab. Sanchez drives through with a takedown into Soto's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Sanchez wants to control from the top but Soto keeps moving. Soto looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sanchez is one step ahead there. Soto controls Sanchez momentarily but Sanchez frees himself. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
That's one minute gone in the round. Soto preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Sanchez trying to control the position from guard on top but Soto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sanchez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Soto fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Sanchez checks it well. Soto wants to clinch. Sanchez swinging wildly here.

Soto staying busy and making it hard for Sanchez to control. Sanchez working for the choke. Soto is trying to break free.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sanchez gets his hands free as Soto looks to control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Soto rolls, trying to escape but Sanchez keeps control of the position.

Soto remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Sanchez will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Sanchez biding his time, controlling Soto. Soto is covering up but some of the strikes from Sanchez are getting through and doing damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sanchez throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Sanchez throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Soto tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sanchez is in Soto's guard. Sanchez stays in close to Soto's body and controls the position. Sanchez is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Soto looking for a guillotine here but Sanchez defends easily.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sanchez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sanchez looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Sanchez works over Soto with some ground and pound from guard. Sanchez is in close to Soto's body, working some short punches and elbows. Soto looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Dirty Sanchez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Soto can't keep his opponent in guard - Sanchez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Soto wants to get back to full guard but Sanchez has passed into side control. Sanchez scores with a couple of short elbows. Sanchez trying to control the action but Soto is working from the bottom. Sanchez is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanchez wants to take a breather but Soto manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Sanchez. Sanchez throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Soto to regain full guard. Soto trying to keep a closed guard but Sanchez is proving a slippery customer.
Sanchez drops back, looking for a kneebar! Soto looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Soto looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Soto! Sanchez tries to bench press Soto off him but Soto keeps the position. Soto has momentary wrist control but Sanchez slips an elbow through the middle. Sanchez has gone for a leg lock! Soto slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sanchez's guard. That's four minutes gone in the round. Soto gets to his feet. Sanchez looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Soto tries to clinch up but Sanchez circles away and keeps his distance. Sanchez shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Soto is trying to defend but Sanchez finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Soto trying to hold on to Sanchez's head to control him but Sanchez postures up.

Sanchez has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Soto regains guard immediately. Sanchez works over Soto with some ground and pound from guard. Soto is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Soto is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted. Sanchez works over Soto with some ground and pound from guard. Soto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sanchez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Sanchez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sanchez trying to control from half guard but Soto is working away.

Sanchez passes Soto's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Sanchez lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Sanchez trying to mount his opponent but Soto defends it. Nice strikes from Sanchez there. Soto tries to get to full guard but Sanchez has control of the leg. Sanchez takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanchez maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Soto could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Sanchez has cracked it and Soto is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Sanchez!
