Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Johan Perciwall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vin Davis! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis thows a body shot but no joy. Perciwall avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Davis looking to score a takedown here. Perciwall is defending well but Davis drives through and ends up in Perciwall's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Davis slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Davis has knee on belly and moves into mount. Perciwall defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Davis. Davis won't let Perciwall get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Davis looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Perciwall is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Perciwall knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Davis on the ground. Davis working for a guillotine from mount but Perciwall is in no mood to give up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis looking to control but Perciwall is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Perciwall defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Davis. Davis has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Perciwall is forced to tap!
