Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dante Velazquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Turk Madden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Turk Madden will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dante Velazquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Turk Madden! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Madden darts in trying to clinch and Velazquez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Madden won't be happy with that. Madden wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Velazquez lands some shots froms side control. Velazquez moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Velazquez in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velazquez wants to control but Madden is keeping him busy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Velazquez tries for a kimura but Madden is defending well. Madden is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Velazquez has just dragged him back down to the mat. Velazquez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Velazquez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Velazquez looking to control but instead Madden has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Velazquez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Madden does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Madden avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Velazquez. Madden wants to control but Velazquez is keeping busy.
Velazquez is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Velazquez works his foot free and advances to mount. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. A nice elbow there by Velazquez. Velazquez goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Madden turns into him and now he's in Velazquez's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Madden wants to stand but Velazquez is controlling his posture from full guard. Madden really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Velazquez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Madden looking to pass the guard. Madden won't allow Velazquez to sweep him here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Velazquez preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dante Velazquez dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Madden tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Velazquez counters with a nice double leg into guard. Madden not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Velazquez stands and throws Madden's legs to the side, diving into side control. Madden manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Velazquez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Velazquez performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Velazquez is pressing down on Madden's thigh, looking to free his foot. Madden is holding on for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Velazquez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Madden does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Madden looking for submissions off his back. Velazquez controlling the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Madden wants to control but Velazquez is keeping busy.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Velazquez here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Velazquez sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Madden tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Velazquez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Turk Madden is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Madden wants to clinch up but Velazquez keeps it at a distance. Madden doesn't manage to clinch there - Velazquez circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Madden closes the distance but Velazquez moves to the side and Velazquez counters with a single leg into guard. Madden didn't expect that. Velazquez throws a big elbow that misses. Velazquez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Velazquez stops Madden from standing up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Velazquez throwing strikes from guard but Madden blocks nicely. Velazquez stands and throws Madden's legs to the side, diving into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Velazquez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Madden is not content to let Velazquez control the position. Velazquez stops Madden from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Velazquez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Madden has managed to free his arm - good work. Velazquez winds up and cracks Madden with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Velazquez controlling the pace. Madden is not content to let Velazquez control the position. Velazquez wants to pass the guard but Madden is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Velazquez prevents Madden from improving his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Velazquez trying to control the action but Madden is working from the bottom. Turk Madden has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
We're going to have a standup here because Dante Velazquez wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Madden moves to clinch but Velazquez breaks away and Velazquez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Velazquez sitting in guard, not really doing much.
And that's the end of the fight! Dante Velazquez showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Velazquez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
