Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kuroda Atsushi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Suchart Chaowanungkarn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chaowanungkarn is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Muay Thai fight music. Kuroda Atsushi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kuroda Atsushi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Suchart Chaowanungkarn! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chaowanungkarn tries a low kick but Atsushi avoids it. Atsushi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Chaowanungkarn sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Atsushi somewhat. Atsushi fails with a takedown attempt. Chaowanungkarn gets off balance looking for a body kick and Atsushi counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Chaowanungkarn thinking. Atsushi tries to land a body kick and Chaowanungkarn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Chaowanungkarn throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Atsushi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Atsushi looks for a takedown but Chaowanungkarn sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kuroda Atsushi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chaowanungkarn misses with a wild body shot. Atsushi moves out of range of the body kick from Chaowanungkarn.
Chaowanungkarn pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Chaowanungkarn tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Atsushi takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Atsushi swings widly with a right hand
and Chaowanungkarn counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Chaowanungkarn.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chaowanungkarn lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Chaowanungkarn creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Atsushi prevents a body shot from Chaowanungkarn. Atsushi drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Atsushi has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Chaowanungkarn after a bit of a struggle. Chaowanungkarn lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Chaowanungkarn is trying to maintain a safe position but Atsushi gets an underhook and turns Chaowanungkarn into the cage. Chaowanungkarn lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Atsushi. Chaowanungkarn is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Atsushi is defending well for now. Chaowanungkarn slows down the pace here.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Atsushi works a leg free and moves into half guard. Atsushi keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Atsushi is thwarting Chaowanungkarn's attempts to control the position. Chaowanungkarn is trying to get back to full guard. Chaowanungkarn controlling the position well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atsushi wants to pass to mount but Chaowanungkarn is defending the position.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Suchart Chaowanungkarn wasn't active enough on the ground. Atsushi tries a head kick but it misses.
A lazy body kick from Chaowanungkarn and Atsushi counters with a straight right hand. Atsushi scores with a nice right hand.
Atsushi looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Atsushi trying to control from half guard but Chaowanungkarn is working away. Atsushi seems to be working for a kimura but Chaowanungkarn defends the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chaowanungkarn regains full guard. Nicely done. Atsushi prevents Chaowanungkarn from getting back to his feet. Chaowanungkarn looking for a sweep. Not yet Chaowanungkarn, not yet. Atsushi makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Chaowanungkarn is pulling down on Atsushi's head to control his posture. Atsushi wants to pass the guard but Chaowanungkarn is keeping the position. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Atsushi throws a strike but Chaowanungkarn rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Chaowanungkarn loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Suchart Chaowanungkarn will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!

Chaowanungkarn misses with an uppercut. Atsushi fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Chaowanungkarn to the ground. Atsushi is now in Chaowanungkarn's guard. Chaowanungkarn not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Atsushi tries to free his leg and advance position but Chaowanungkarn is retaining full guard. Atsushi throwing strikes from guard but Chaowanungkarn blocks nicely. Atsushi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Chaowanungkarn working a defensive guard here.
Chaowanungkarn looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Chaowanungkarn controls Atsushi momentarily but Atsushi frees himself. Atsushi being controlled here momentarily.

Suchart Chaowanungkarn has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Chaowanungkarn misses with a head kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Chaowanungkarn looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A solid leg kick lands there for Atsushi.
Atsushi throws a hook but Chaowanungkarn blocks it. Chaowanungkarn tries to land a front kick but Atsushi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Chaowanungkarn blocks the body kick.
Atsushi feints and as Chaowanungkarn raises his hands in defense, Atsushi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Atsushi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chaowanungkarn looking to control.
Chaowanungkarn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Atsushi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Chaowanungkarn is working away from the top position though. Chaowanungkarn trying to control the pace. Atsushi keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Chaowanungkarn prevents Atsushi from improving his position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Chaowanungkarn is trying to control the action in half guard but Atsushi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Atsushi throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Chaowanungkarn tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Atsushi is in Chaowanungkarn's guard. Chaowanungkarn is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Atsushi trying to control the position from guard on top but Chaowanungkarn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Chaowanungkarn preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Kuroda Atsushi will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Atsushi is looking to advance position but Chaowanungkarn won't allow it. Atsushi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Chaowanungkarn's head. Chaowanungkarn is looking to control Atsushi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Chaowanungkarn avoid being mounted? Atsushi moves nicely into side control. Chaowanungkarn is not content to let Atsushi control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chaowanungkarn takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Atsushi cracks Chaowanungkarn with a big elbow. Atsushi wants to control but Chaowanungkarn is keeping him busy. Atsushi lands a few punches from side control. Atsushi is trying to ground and pound but Chaowanungkarn uses the momentary lack of control by Atsushi to regain half guard. Atsushi is trying to control the action in half guard but Chaowanungkarn is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Atsushi trying to advance position but Chaowanungkarn counters by regaining guard. Atsushi is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Chaowanungkarn is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Chaowanungkarn has escaped and now he's on top!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chaowanungkarn accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Chaowanungkarn trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Chaowanungkarn postures up.

Chaowanungkarn is rocked! Atsushi trying to control but Chaowanungkarn is having none of it. Chaowanungkarn is still in real trouble! Can Atsushi finish him? Atsushi lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Chaowanungkarn hang on? Atsushi with good strikes from the mount here! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Atsushi avoids the attempt from Chaowanungkarn to control. Chaowanungkarn seems to have recovered his senses. Atsushi punishing his opponent with strikes. Atsushi lands a big elbow - Chaowanungkarn is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Chaowanungkarn is forced to tap out!
