Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Henk de Vries (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Japan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joey Japan is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Henk de Vries! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joey Japan! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! de Vries shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Japan trying to control but de Vries postures up.
de Vries looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
de Vries tries to pass the half guard into mount. Japan knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Japan tries to roll over but de Vries keeps him under control. Japan manages to get to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. de Vries wanted to stand there but Japan had control of the position. Japan wants to sweep but no luck. Japan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. de Vries tries to clinch but Japan moves out of range. Japan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Japan stalling in the clinch.
Japan has dropped down and is working for a takedown. de Vries is trying to keep an underhook but Japan manages to get the takedown into half guard. Japan is looking to take a break and control but de Vries is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. de Vries is trying to get back to full guard.

Japan misses with a takedown attempt and de Vries counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by de Vries. Japan misses with an elbow over the top. de Vries has picked Japan up - he's going for a ride! de Vries dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Japan tries to roll over but de Vries keeps him under control. Japan has hold of de Vries's hands but de Vries slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. de Vries is taking a breather. Japan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. de Vries trying to control from half guard but Japan is working away. Japan is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. de Vries trying to control from half guard but Japan is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Japan trying to hold on to de Vries's head to control him but de Vries postures up.
de Vries trying to control the action but Japan is working from the bottom. de Vries not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Japan scores a takedown into full mount! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Japan lands a big shot there that rocks de Vries but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round. de Vries wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Japan working for the choke. Japan lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK. de Vries is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Japan controlling from the back. de Vries breaks Japan's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Japan looking for a sweep. Not yet Japan, not yet. de Vries stands up from guard. Let's bang! Japan looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for de Vries! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Japan putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! de Vries is desperately trying to improve his position but Japan has a good base and remains in mount. Japan trying to control but he's not successful this time. de Vries wants to control but Japan is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joey Japan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
de Vries shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Japan takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. de Vries trying to control but he's not successful this time. Japan can't escape the position.
de Vries tries to control but Japan wriggling away. de Vries wants to finish this one by submission but Japan is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from de Vries. de Vries avoids the attempt from Japan to control. Japan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. de Vries trying to control but he's not successful this time. de Vries controlling from mount. de Vries looking to control but Japan is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. de Vries prevents Japan from getting the reversal.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. de Vries takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. de Vries is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Japan can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

de Vries wants to control the pace but Japan is squirming around nicely.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Henk de Vries just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Japan moves into the clinch. de Vries wants to stall.
de Vries gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Japan keeping control of the position. Let's hope that Japan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Japan is trying to control but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Japan gets full guard. Japan had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. de Vries is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Japan Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take de Vries's back instead. de Vries controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad spot.
Japan is not going to allow de Vries to sit and survive in this position. Henk de Vries has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. de Vries is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
And that's the end of the fight! Henk de Vries showed his dominance in that final round. Well Japan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
