Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jean Van Dam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Eberhart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eberhart has chosen South Side as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andrew Eberhart! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eberhart blocks a low kick nicely. Eberhart shoots in but Van Dam avoids the takedown attempt easily. Eberhart moves out of range as Van Dam strikes. Van Dam slaps away a takedown attempt from Eberhart, before circling back to the center of the mat. Van Dam takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Eberhart shoots in but Van Dam avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jean Van Dam has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Eberhart. Eberhart fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Van Dam avoids it really well and circles away. Eberhart throws a jab but it's blocked by Van Dam. A slow jab from Van Dam misses its intended target. Eberhart bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Van Dam's head backwards. Van Dam keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round. Eberhart misses with a few strikes there.
Eberhart misses with a hook. Van Dam ducked under it nicely. Van Dam missing with a left hand there. Eberhart was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Van Dam will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Van Dam takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Eberhart with a lazy takedown attempt enabling Van Dam to counter with a crisp jab. Van Dam is looking to score with low kicks. Eberhart throws an overhand right that lands on Van Dam's shoulder, as Van Dam tries to avoid the shot. Eberhart has his takedown stuffed and Van Dam counters with a nice uppercut. Eberhart shoots and misses and Van Dam counters with a left to the body. Eberhart misses with a hook. Van Dam throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Eberhart tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Van Dam is in Eberhart's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Van Dam connects with a couple of short punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Van Dam passes easily into side control. Nice work. Eberhart is trying to get back to half guard. Van Dam thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Eberhart manages to work his way to half guard, despite Van Dam's best efforts. Eberhart moves into full guard.

He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Van Dam reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Van Dam taps out! Nice BJJ there by Eberhart!
