Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Houle shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McFadden as he jumps to the side.
Houle shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Houle is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, McFadden has managed to free his arm - good work.
McFadden wants to get back to full guard.
McFadden is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Houle pulls his head out easily.
Houle is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
McFadden looking for submissions off his back.
McFadden looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
McFadden looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

McFadden is refusing to be controlled, as Houle sits in half guard.
Houle is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Houle seems to be working for a kimura but McFadden defends the submission attempt.
Well, if Houle is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
McFadden really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Houle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

McFadden pushes Houle off looking to stand but Houle dives back in and keeps control.

Houle seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McFadden does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

McFadden moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Houle drops back looking for a leg! McFadden is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McFadden manages to kick Houle off! Houle jumps back into McFadden's guard.
McFadden is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Houle defends well.

McFadden is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Houle is aware though and is defending well.
McFadden is looking for a triangle but Houle pushes his legs off easily.
Houle thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Houle has worked his way into a potential kimura here. McFadden is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Houle yanks on the arm and McFadden is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Houle.
