Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ray Zaharn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Mendazedora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zaharn comes to the cage accompanied by 28 Days Later . I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Hugo Mendazedora was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zaharn checks a leg kick.
Zaharn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mendazedora moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Zaharn swings widly with a right hand
and Mendazedora counters with a nice leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Zaharn. Mendazedora does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mendazedora stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mendazedora wants it to stay on the feet.
Zaharn is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mendazedora sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Mendazedora connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Zaharn tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mendazedora sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zaharn somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ray Zaharn. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mendazedora throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

It looks like Ray Zaharn has been cut.

Mendazedora is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Zaharn tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mendazedora swivels and escapes.
Zaharn misses with a two punch combination.
Zaharn is breathing heavily.
Zaharn tries for a takedown but Mendazedora sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mendazedora lands a nice leg kick that just misses Zaharn's sensitive parts.
Zaharn misses with a takedown attempt - Mendazedora sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Mendazedora lands a big head kick that sends Zaharn tumbling to the mat! Mendazedora takes a step backwards and waves Zaharn back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Zaharn is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mendazedora looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Mendazedora backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Zaharn's temple! It sends Zaharn violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Mendazedora celebrates and the doctors try to help Zaharn!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Hugo Mendazedora!
Hugo Mendazedora bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
