The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pirozhkov takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Brookins waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Pirozhkov.
Pirozhkov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Brookins fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pirozhkov manages to avoid it.
A lazy left from Brookins finds it's target.
Pirozhkov circles away from the clinch attempt.
Pirozhkov ducks under a wild hook from Brookins.
Pirozhkov tries for a takedown but Brookins circles away easily
and Brookins cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Brookins closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Pirozhkov quickly recovers to half guard.
Brookins throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Pirozhkov trying to control but Brookins postures up.
Brookins thows a huge punch but Pirozhkov dodges it nicely.

Brookins prevents Pirozhkov from improving his position.
Pirozhkov works his way to full guard. Good work.
Pirozhkov trying to keep a closed guard but Brookins is proving a slippery customer.
Pirozhkov looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Pirozhkov working a defensive guard but Brookins passes into half guard.

Pirozhkov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Brookins pulls his head out easily.
Pirozhkov lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.
Pirozhkov has a hand on Brookins's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Brookins takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Brookins lands a big shot there that rocks Pirozhkov but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pirozhkov gets back to half guard.
Brookins is working for a kimura but Pirozhkov is defending it quite comfortably.

Brookins is just content to waste time from the top position. Pirozhkov takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Pirozhkov is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Brookins sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pirozhkov's guard.

Pirozhkov is controlling Brookins's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Pirozhkov tries to roll over but Brookins keeps him under control.

Pirozhkov wants to improve his position but Brookins is controlling well.
Brookins looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pirozhkov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Brookins thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pirozhkov's head.
Pirozhkov is trying to control but can't.
Pirozhkov gets back to full guard.

Pirozhkov is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Brookins rolls with it to try and escape but Pirozhkov cranks on the arm and Brookins is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
