The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Njewel stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Njewel wants it to stay on the feet.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Smith tries to clinch but Njewel moves out of range.

Smith closes the distance and clinches up with Njewel, looking for a takedown. Smith pushes Njewel against the cage but Njewel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Smith is defended easily by Njewel.
Smith is breathing heavily.
Njewel feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Smiths jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Njewel leaves Smith with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Njewel throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Smith stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Njewel stuns Smith with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Smith swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Njewel counters with a left to the body.
Smith takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Smith keeps the fight on the outside.
Njewel sizes up Smith with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Smith bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Njewel wants to control but Smith postures up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Martin Philippe Njewel hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Njewel dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Smith walks into a left hand.

and Njewel makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Smith looks for a takedown but Njewel sprawls well.
Njewel clobbers Smith with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Smith shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Njewel but Njewel pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Njewel bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Smith's head.

Njewel smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

and Njewel counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Smith takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Njewel wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Smith looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Njewel is fending him off so far but Smith persists. Nope, Njewel circles away and we're back to standing.

Smith looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Njewel tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Smith swivels and escapes.
Smith drops his hands momentarily and Njewel takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Njewel lands a jab to the nose.
Njewel jabs Smith to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Njewel connects with a good right hand that stumbles Smith. Smith circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Smith has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Njewel finds it's way round the side to connect with Smith's head.
Njewel drops Smith with a straight right hand, right on the button! Njewel follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
