Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adelard Desormeaux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Suan Paredes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Desormeaux comes into the arena with C'est si bon blaring out of the sound system. Suan Paredes will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Adelard Desormeaux! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Suan Paredes! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Desormeaux lets loose with a powerful body kick. Paredes will feel that in the morning. Desormeaux misses with a few strikes there.
Desormeaux throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Desormeaux tries for a takedown but Paredes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Paredes closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Desormeaux to the mat! Desormeaux manages to get full guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Desormeaux is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Paredes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Desormeaux has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Paredes has managed to get both his arms back between Desormeaux's legs - danger averted. Desormeaux looking for a guillotine here but Paredes defends easily.
Desormeaux might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Desormeaux working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Paredes. Paredes is in close to Desormeaux's body, working some short punches and elbows. Paredes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Paredes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Desormeaux manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Paredes manages to get himself to full guard.
Desormeaux is fighting to break Paredes's control of his arms but Paredes is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Paredes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Desormeaux is one step ahead there. Paredes keeping full guard, as Desormeaux tries to pass.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Desormeaux wants to control from the top but Paredes keeps moving. Desormeaux tries to free his leg and advance position but Paredes is retaining full guard. Paredes managing to control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Desormeaux takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Desormeaux looks to land a body kick but Paredes moved away. Paredes takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

That's four minutes gone in the round. Desormeaux throws a solid leg kick but Paredes takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Desormeaux. Desormeaux shoots in and drives through. Paredes sprawls well. Desormeaux throws a leg kick but Paredes checks it. Paredes wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Paredes blocks a low kick nicely. Adelard Desormeaux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Paredes blocks a head kick by Desormeaux.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Paredes connects with the punch. Paredes checks a leg kick. Paredes takes a swing at Desormeaux's ribcage but misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Adelard Desormeaux will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!

Desormeaux postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Paredes is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Desormeaux, into his guard. Paredes trying to control but Desormeaux is working from the bottom. Paredes looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Desormeaux looking for a triangle here. Paredes is fighting it but it looks tight! Desormeaux pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Paredes is tapping out - this one is all over!
