Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Karl Socha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Karl Socha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson tries to clinch up but Socha circles away and keeps his distance.

Johnson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Johnson sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Johnson passes the guard and advances to mount!
Johnson trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Johnson content just to control the position here.
Johnson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Socha is looking to escape.

Johnson controlling the pace for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Chris Johnson was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Socha swings for the body but Johnson moves out of range.

Socha stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Socha wants it to stay on the feet.
Socha misses with a body kick.
Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Socha tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Socha to the ground. Socha escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Karl Socha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Johnson.
Good leg kick by Socha there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Socha throws a solid leg kick but Johnson takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Socha.
Socha throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Johnson on the side of the head.


It looks like Chris Johnson has been cut.
Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Socha circles away.
Johnson on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Johnson tries to clinch but Socha moves out of range.
Socha stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Socha wants it to stay on the feet.
Socha tries to land a front kick but Johnson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Johnson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Socha defends it nicely.

and Johnson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Socha throws a low kick but Johnson avoids it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Socha lands a body shot.
Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Socha sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Johnson has a takedown stuffed.
Johnson looks gassed!
Socha thuds a left hand into Johnson's body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Socha ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Socha, right into the meat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Socha throws a nice outside leg kick.
Socha throws the left hand but Johnson avoids the punch easily.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Socha clinches up with Johnson and pushes him back against the cage.
Socha working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Johnson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Socha is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Socha lands a body punch.
Socha's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Socha comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Socha scores with an uppercut up the middle.

That has opened up Chris Johnson's cut even more.
Socha is pressed up against the cage. Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Socha down to the mat. Socha avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Karl Socha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Johnson.
Socha throws a leg kick but Johnson checks it.
Horrible takedown by Johnson or perhaps it was just good defense by Socha which made him look bad.
Socha throws a chopping leg kick but Johnson manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Socha swings for the body but Johnson moves out of range.
Johnson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Socha shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Socha rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Johnson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A slow jab from Socha misses its intended target.
Karl Socha is winning the standup battle so far.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson.
Socha keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Socha lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Johnson takes one to the chin there.
Socha stuffs the takedown attempt from Johnson. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.

Johnson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Socha sprawls well initially but Johnson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Socha on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Socha tries to get out of the position.
Johnson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Socha wants to get back to his feet.
Socha trying to hold on to Johnson's head to control him but Johnson postures up.
Johnson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Johnson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Johnson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Socha defending well though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Johnson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Socha does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Socha is pressing down on Johnson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Johnson throws a big right hand that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Socha throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily.
Socha pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown but Socha manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Johnson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Socha moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Socha displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Socha swings away with a body shot that misses
and Johnson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Johnson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Socha sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Johnson somewhat.
Johnson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Socha lands a big uppercut and Johnson crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Johnson looks OK. Socha waves Johnson back to his feet!


Johnson is rocked!

BAM! Socha delivers a spinning backfist that drops Johnson like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
