Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hjalmar Dale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calgary Alberta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dale comes to the cage accompanied by A Country Boy Can Survive. Calgary Alberta has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hjalmar Dale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Calgary Alberta!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dale with a poor takedown

and Alberta moves into the clinch.
Alberta putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Dale in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Alberta just leaning against Dale, taking a breather.
Alberta comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


It looks like Hjalmar Dale has been cut.

Alberta gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dale wants to control but Alberta is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Alberta wants to work for an arm triangle but Dale is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Alberta is trying to work for a kimura but Dale is defending well.

Alberta performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Alberta wants to advance to full mount but Dale doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Alberta postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dale is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Alberta, into his guard.
Dale will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Alberta is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Dale stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alberta swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Alberta pushes Dale off and gets back to his feet.
Alberta's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Alberta duly obliges.

Alberta darts in and clinches Dale up against the cage.
Alberta jumps guard but Dale stands there with Alberta around his waist. Alberta gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Dale is trying to push Alberta away but Alberta has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Dale takes an elbow to the temple.

Alberta breaks from the clinch.

Alberta closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
You can see the frustration on Dale's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Alberta tries to score with some ground and pound. Dale controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Alberta has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Alberta rushes Dale and presses him up against the cage.
Alberta drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Alberta has Dale pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Alberta pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Dale tumbling to the mat - Alberta dives into Dale's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dale has Alberta pulled in close to control his posture.

Dale rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alberta moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Alberta jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Dale is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Dale and Alberta has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Alberta thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Dale tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Alberta wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Alberta swings around for an armbar but Dale sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Alberta's guard.
Alberta can't keep his opponent in guard - Dale advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Dale is keen to just control but Alberta is a slippery customer.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Alberta can do anything to dispel that myth.

Dale is looking to take a break and control but Alberta is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Dale wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alberta keeps working.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alberta wants to control but Dale postures up.
The ground and pound from Dale seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Calgary Alberta showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


No joy there for Alberta, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dale pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dale rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alberta moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Alberta has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Dale clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Alberta is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Dale has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Alberta is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Dale defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Calgary Alberta is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hjalmar Dale has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Alberta gets his hands free as Dale looks to control.
Alberta has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Alberta slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Well Alberta has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Calgary Alberta was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
