Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricardo Grason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Rain!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rain tries to land a front kick but Grason steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Grason looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Grason avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rain wants to clinch up but Grason keeps it at a distance.

Grason gets the takedown into side control.
Rain tries to bench press Grason off him but Grason keeps the position.
Rain is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Rain is trying to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rain gets back to half guard.
Rain tries to get to full guard but Grason has control of the leg.

Rain regains full guard. Nicely done.

Rain escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Grason gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rain is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Rain performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Rain passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Grason!

Rain get's back to his feet.
Grason fails with a takedown attempt.

Rain takes the fight into the clinch.
Rain's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Grason stops a takedown attempt from Rain.

Rain breaks the clinch.

Rain has Grason up against the cage in a clinch.
Grason gets underhooks to prevent Rain's takedown attempt.

Rain tries a head kick but it misses.
No luck for Rain with that takedown attempt.
Ricardo Grason has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Rain.
Rain wants to clinch up but Grason keeps it at a distance.

Rain on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Grason avoids the head kick by Rain.
Rain closes the distance and clinches up with Grason, looking for a takedown. Rain pushes Grason against the cage but Grason circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Grason gets caught flat footed, as Rain shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Rain keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Grason's head.

Rain gets to his feet - Grason follows without any prompting.

Rain connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Grason to the floor! Rain dives in looking for the finish!


Grason is rocked!


It looks like Ricardo Grason has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oh Grason is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Rain decides to return to a standing position.
Grason on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Grason seems to have got his legs back now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rain lands a nice leg kick that just misses Grason's sensitive parts.
A head kick misses from Rain.
Grason tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rain throws a head kick but Grason moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Rain dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Grason tries for a takedown but Rain circles away easily

and Rain decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Grason's guard.
Grason wants to sweep but no luck.
Grason is pulling down on Rain's head. It's preventing any offense from Rain, at least for the moment.
Rain is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Grason wants to sweep here but Rain controlling him for the moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Grason is trying to control the position but Rain postures up.
Rain is stalling in the full guard.
Grason can't keep his opponent in guard - Rain advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Rain is thwarting Grason's attempts to control the position.
Ryan Rain has got the better of the ground game so far.
Rain stalling.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rain's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Rain prevents Grason from improving his position.
Rain is taking a breather. Grason says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Grason tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Rain has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Grason tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rain trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Rain sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Despite being in the dominant position, Ryan Rain just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rain tries to clinch there but Grason circles away.
Rain closes this distance looking for a takedown but Grason circles away.

Rain scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Rain with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Grason wants to control but Rain is keeping busy.
Grason tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Rain showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Rain works over Grason's head and body with a nice combination.
Crack! A monster head kick from Rain and Grason falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Rain!
