Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ray Oliver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Chan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Oliver might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Enter Sandman-Metallica. Jeff Chan acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ray Oliver! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeff Chan! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chan gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Oliver is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Oliver passes into half guard. Chan is staying active underneath Oliver, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Oliver is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Chan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Oliver. Chan is in trouble now - Oliver has advanced to mount! Oliver controlling from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Oliver trying to control but Chan is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oliver moves to back control. Chan holding both Oliver 's hands and preventing any damage. Oliver tries to get the hooks in deep but Chan pushed the leg off. Oliver controlling from the back. Oliver tightening his grip on Chan, looking for the choke. You can see the frustration on Chan's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oliver has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Chan has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Chan prevents Oliver from getting a body triangle. Oliver working for a choke but Chan is defending well. Oliver gets his hands free as Chan looks to control. Oliver is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Oliver has managed to slip his arm under Chan's chin. This could be all over... yep, Chan is tapping out! Submission win for Oliver.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ray Oliver! Ray Oliver retains his lightweight title! Ray Oliver looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'I want to thank my fans and the people of Brazil who support me and also my team in Montreal , thank you'.
