Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yama Lakes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kimura comes to the cage accompanied by can't be touched. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Kimura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yama Lakes! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lakes tries a head kick but it misses.
Kimura gets the takedown into side control. Lakes sneaks out the side door and pushes Kimura away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Lakes showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kimura.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Kimura looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Lakes lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sloppy strikes from Kimura. Those never looked like landing. Kimura manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lakes on his heels. He'll look to pass Lakes's guard now, I'm sure. Lakes is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kimura is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kimura tries to free his leg and advance position but Lakes is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lakes scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Lakes fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kimura has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Lakes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A combination from Kimura does no damage. Kimura decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Kimura thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lakes is defending against the submission attempts here by Kimura.
Kimura has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Lakes is trying to stand up here but Kimura is controlling him well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kimura is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lakes defends it well. Lakes wants to get back to his feet.
