The Hitman is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: All within My Hands. Rocky The Hitman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kongo misses with a lunging right hand

and The Hitman counters with a single leg into guard. Kongo didn't expect that.

The Hitman tries to lock up and control but Kongo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kongo unloads with some shots from mount but The Hitman bucks and avoids them well.

The referee warns The Hitman that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Kongo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kongo wants to lay and pray for a moment but The Hitman keeps working.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kongo throws an elbow that misses. The Hitman uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kongo's guard. Nice move by The Hitman!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kongo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as The Hitman controls the pace.

Kongo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The Hitman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The Hitman shoots in but no luck this time.

Kongo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Kongo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with The Hitman, pushing him back against the cage.
The Hitman is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kongo pulls him back up using the underhooks.
The Hitman wants to take the fight to the mat but Kongo manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Surge Kongo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rocky The Hitman.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kongo is stalling here.
Kongo wants to stall.
Kongo throws a blind hook that connects with the side of The Hitmans head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The Hitman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kongo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Kongo pulls The Hitman in close to his closed guard and prevents The Hitman from doing any damage or advancing position.
Kongo is trying to control the position but The Hitman postures up.

Rocky The Hitman decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
