Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Xavier David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Bring The Pain. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 15 - 1, fighting out of New York, Xavier David!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ted Knight!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
David misses with a body shot.
David throws a right and a left that both miss.
David throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Knight misses with a looping right.
David throws a looping overhand right but Knight ducks down to avoid it.
Knight tries to clinch there but David circles away.
The crowd cheers as Knight lands an impressive looking overhand right. David doesn't seem phased though.
David moves into range and connects with a jab.
Knight throws a half hearted mid kick.
A head kick misses from Knight.
Knight shoots in looking for a takedown but David manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Knight's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Knight gets caught napping as David dives in and scores a takedown. Knight manages to retain guard.

Xavier David has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ted Knight.

David fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Knight on the side of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Knight tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

David fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Knight blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Knight tries to land knees in the clinch but David avoids the damage to the body.
David throws an elbow that misses.
David lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Knight misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from David.

David is trying to trip Knight. He has hold of a leg but Knight is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. David persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close round but I would say that Xavier David will probably get the nod.

David is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

A close second round but Ted Knight will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Knight walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Knight takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Xavier David is winning the standup battle so far.
Knight throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Knight fakes high and swings low for a body shot but David manages to avoid it.

David throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Knight tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. David is in Knight's guard.

Knight seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but David does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Knight is looking to work some ground and pound but David has wrist control.
David wants to sweep here but Knight controlling him for the moment.

David is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
David won't allow Knight to pass to mount.
David trying to hold on to Knight's head to control him but Knight postures up.
David has his hands clasped together around Knight's back. He's all about the action.

Knight looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
David is looking to control Knight's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can David avoid being mounted?

We're going to have a standup here because Xavier David wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Knight will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
David tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Knight wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Xavier David.
I think David has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
