PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mark Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dorian Gay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spencer comes into the arena with Ride Of The Valkyries - Richard Wagner blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dorian Gay!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spencer uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Spencer doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gay counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Spencer tries a low kick but Gay avoids it.
Spencer fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gay manages to avoid it.
Gay shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Spencer pinned against the cage. Spencer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Gay has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Spencer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gay has his foot on Spencer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Spencer works his way back into a safe position though.

Spencer drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gay manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Spencer has Gay in his guard.
Gay slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mark Spencer will probably get the nod.
