Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Steve Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zack Nery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nery shoots in for a takedown but Williams shows good takedown defense.
Williams throws a nice looking combination but Nery bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Williams misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Williams misses with an attempted mid kick.
Williams throws a series of punches but Nery avoids them all with ease.

Nery manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Williams on his heels. He'll look to pass Williams's guard now, I'm sure.

Nery seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nery postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Williams looks a forlorn figure.

Nery stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Nery closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nery misses with a takedown attempt - Williams sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Nery takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Williams looks to land a combination. Nery sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Williams.
Nery shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Williams pinned against the cage. Williams gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Nery changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Williams tries to avoid it but Nery manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Williams to the ground. Williams escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Williams goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Nery shoots for a takedown but Williams saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nery throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Williams sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Williams cracks Nery with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Williams lands a nice looking body shot.
Williams throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nery.
Nery shoots for a double leg takedown but Williams sprawls well. He's pushed Nery's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Williams throws a series of strikes that have Nery backpedaling.
Williams pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Nery back to the cage. Williams follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Williams digs a good body shot into Nery's ribs.
Williams darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Nery has a takedown stuffed.
Nery throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Williams's waist but Williams gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nery off to one side.

Nery is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Williams is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Nery takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Nery throws an elbow but Williams slips to the side and avoids it well.

Nery tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Nery wants to lay and pray for a moment but Williams keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Williams pushes Nery away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Nery gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Nery remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Nery sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Williams is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Nery is looking to take a break and control but Williams is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Nery is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Williams has escaped the position, nice work there.

Nery thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

And that's the end of the fight!
Zack Nery comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Nery has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
