The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Shadow to the mat! Shadow manages to get full guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Jackson wants to control from the top but Shadow keeps moving.
Jackson pushes down on Shadow's leg and manages to get into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shadow is refusing to be controlled, as Jackson sits in half guard.

Jackson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Jackson is controlling the pace.

Shadow is defending against the submission attempts here by Jackson.

Shadow is looking to escape.
Shadow on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shadow tries to get out of the position.
Jackson works his way into full mount!
Shadow's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Jackson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Shadow can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Shadow is squirming around, avoiding Jackson's attempts to control the action.

Jackson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Shadow is surviving well by controlling Jackson's body position as best he can.
