Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kenji Watanabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jokke Mela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mela is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Da Rockwilder . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Kenji Watanabe! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jokke Mela! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mela throws an overhand right that lands on Watanabe's shoulder, as Watanabe tries to avoid the shot. Mela thows a left - swing and a miss! Mela takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Mela ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Watanabe moves away. Mela is trying hard to land a takedown here. Watanabe sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Watanabe does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Watanabe moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Mela closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Watanabe quickly recovers to half guard. Mela is looking to stall here but Watanabe recovers full guard. Watanabe has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Mela should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Watanabe has tightened it up now! Mela should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kenji Watanabe! Kenji Watanabe retains his bantamweight title! After winning the bout, Kenji Watanabe thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
