PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Linh Munn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenshin Batusai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Munn comes to the cage accompanied by Motivation. The crowd seem to be enjoying Batusai's choice of entrance music: Step Up. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Linh Munn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Kenshin Batusai!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Munn fails with the takedown
and Batusai counters with a slapping leg kick.
Munn is trying hard to land a takedown here. Batusai sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Munn gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Batusai counters with an inside leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Linh Munn. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Munn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Batusai's waist but Batusai gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Munn off to one side.

Munn throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Batusai tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Munn is in Batusai's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Munn avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Munn missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Munn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Munn postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Munn throws a strike but Batusai rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Munn is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Batusai got a little sloppy there for a moment and Munn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Batusai has managed to get both his arms back between Munn's legs - danger averted.
Batusai throws a big right hand that misses.

Batusai throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Munn works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Munn wants to sweep here but Batusai controlling him for the moment.

Batusai stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Munn throws up his legs and catches Batusai in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Batusai tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Munn! That came out of nowhere!
