Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Winston Blau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz's entrance music is National Anthem. A fine choice. Winston Blau acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, George Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, Winston Blau!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diaz feints and as Blau raises his hands in defense, Diaz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Diaz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Blau is keeping the position for now.
Diaz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Blau has his foot on Diaz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Diaz works his way back into a safe position though.
Diaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blau swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Diaz passes into half guard.

Blau keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Blau is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Diaz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Diaz's back!
Diaz rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Diaz is trying to maintain the position but Blau is very close to passing his half guard.

Blau wants to stand up but Diaz is controlling the position.
Diaz wants to get back to full guard.
Blau is thwarting Diaz's attempts to control the position.
Diaz wants to improve his position but Blau is controlling well.

Blau tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Blau looks to land a combination but Diaz avoids it well.
Diaz fails with an attempt to clinch.
Diaz has a takedown stuffed.
Winston Blau seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blau misses with a head kick.
Horrible takedown by Blau or perhaps it was just good defense by Diaz which made him look bad.
Blau looks gassed!

Diaz closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Diaz trying to control the action but Blau is working from the bottom.
Blau is trying to stand up here but Diaz is controlling him well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Diaz prevents Blau from improving his position.

Blau is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Diaz pulls his head out easily.
Diaz passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Blau!

Blau has given up his back here. Will Diaz look for the submission or keep pounding away?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Diaz is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Diaz has got his arm under Blau's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Blau has spun round into Diaz's guard beautifully! Well done that man!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Diaz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Blau doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Blau manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Diaz looking for a sweep. Not yet Diaz, not yet.
Diaz throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Diaz dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Diaz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Diaz lands in his opponent's guard.
Diaz has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Diaz drops back, looking for a kneebar! Blau looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Blau looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Blau!

Diaz tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Blau wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Blau is breathing heavily.
Blau wants to stand but Diaz has his arm trapped.
Diaz manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Diaz wants to improve his position but Blau is controlling well.
Diaz moves into full guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Diaz manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Blau is trying to reverse the position but instead Diaz has taken his back - oops!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Diaz is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Blau with him. Blau is trying to defend but Diaz has an arm under the chin now! Blau grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). George Diaz!
