Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buba Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kris Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kris Davis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Buba Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kris Davis!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva closes the distance but Davis moves to the side
and Davis cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Davis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Silva circles away.
Davis circles away from the clinch attempt
and Davis holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Davis stalls.
Davis has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Silva after a bit of a struggle.
Silva wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Silva's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Davis throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Silvas head.
Silva tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Davis avoids it.
Silva is trying to maintain a safe position but Davis gets an underhook and turns Silva into the cage.
Davis has Silva pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Davis pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Silva tumbling to the mat - Davis dives into Silva's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Davis passes into half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Davis in particular looking to stall.
Davis is looking for a kimura but Silva is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Davis to get the leverage.
Davis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Silva is in trouble now - Davis has advanced to mount!
Davis controlling the position easily from mount.
Davis looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Silva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Davis on the ground.

Davis content just to control the position here.
Davis is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Silva has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Silva!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Davis has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Davis working for a triangle but Silva defends it easily.
Davis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Davis manages to escape and get back to his feet.

and Davis counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Silva really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kris Davis dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A head kick misses from Silva.
Davis is looking to land body kicks.
Davis tries to land a front kick but Silva steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Silva moves to clinch but Davis breaks away
and Davis counters by moving into the clinch.
Silva pushes off an throws an elbow but Davis leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Davis is on top in guard.
Davis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Davis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Davis stands up from Silva's guard - Davis perhaps looking for a knockout.

and Davis counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Silva is trying to force a seperation but Davis has the dominant position.

Silva is fighting to break Davis's control of his arms but Davis is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Davis lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Silva!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Let's hope that Davis has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Davis's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Davis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Kris Davis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Davis blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Davis has Silva pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Silva manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Davis just misses with a elbow thrown towards Silva's brow.

Davis presses Silva against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Buba Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kris Davis.

Davis looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Davis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Davis controlling from the full mount.
Davis has hold of Silva's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Silva manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Buba Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kris Davis is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kris Davis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Davis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
