The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnston takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Will swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Johnston throws a right and a left that Will avoids nicely.
Will misses with an uppercut. Johnston saw that one coming.
Will throws a left and a right that both miss
and Johnston counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Will kicks Johnston off and gets back to his feet.
Johnston slips a jab and a cross from Will.
Will clinches.
Will landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Will breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Johnston shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Will pinned against the cage. Will gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Johnston takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Will throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnston.

Will moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Johnston has worked his arm free - good work by Johnston!
Will cracks Johnston with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Will throws a strike aimed at the side of Johnston's head but Johnston avoids it well.
Johnston tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Will wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Will laying and praying for a moment but Johnston takes advantage and regains half guard.
Johnston is in trouble now - Will has advanced to mount!

Will working for a guillotine from mount but Johnston is in no mood to give up.

Johnston really wants to buck Will off and get back to his feet.

Will has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Johnston's face.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Will will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Will jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Johnston manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Johnston is not content to let Will control the position.
Will looks up at the clock and then as Johnston takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Will smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Johnston uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Will.
Nice sprawl there from Will as Johnston shoots in.
Will feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Will connects with a nice short shot to Johnston's temple.

and Johnston counters with a single leg into guard. Will didn't expect that.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ill Will.
Well Will has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
