Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Apollo Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Mulligan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Michael Mulligan was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Apollo Brooks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Mulligan! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brooks tries for a takedown but Mulligan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. A combination from Mulligan does no damage. Brooks takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Mulligan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Brooks uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mulligan. Brooks shoots in looking for a takedown. Mulligan tries to sprawl out of it but Brooks keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mulligan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Mulligan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Brooks tries to move into range but Mulligan moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Mulligan lands with a good body shot. Mulligan connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Mulligan misses with a wild combination.
Mulligan tries to close the distance and clinch but Brooks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mulligan tries a head kick but it misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mulligan throws a hook but Brooks blocks it. Mulligan tries to clinch but Brooks is having none of it. Mulligan instigates a clinch. Mulligan lands a right hand that snaps the head of Brooks backwards. Mulligan tries to break the clinch but Brooks is controlling the position. Brooks is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Apollo Brooks. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mulligan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mulligan scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Mulligan, right into the meat.
Mulligan misses with a two punch combination.
Michael Mulligan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mulligan cracks Brooks with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Brooks is rocked! Mulligan throws an overhand right that lands on Brooks's shoulder, as Brooks tries to avoid the shot. Oh Brooks is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mulligan throws a right and a left that Brooks avoids nicely. Mulligan throws a nice looking combination but Brooks bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mulligan misses with a double jab.
Mulligan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Brooks. Brooks tries to keep at a distance but Mulligan has taken the fight into the clinch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Mulligan. Brooks blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Brooks is trying to pull guard but Mulligan turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Mulligan breaks the clinch.
Mulligan looks to land a right hand but Brooks moved out of range. Mulligan throws a hook to the side of Brooks's head but Brooks sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Mulligan tries a head kick but it misses.
Mulligan looks gassed! Mulligan looks to land a right hand but Brooks moved out of range. Brooks slips under a jab from Mulligan. A big left from Mulligan misses. Brooks seems to have got his legs back now. Mulligan stuffs the takedown attempt from Brooks. Brooks gets slowly back to his feet. Mulligan feints with a jab and clips Brooks right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Brooks is sent crashing into the canvas and Mulligan leaps in for the kill! Brooks tries to get to his feet but Mulligan is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Brooks is in need of a savior and steps in!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Mulligan! Michael Mulligan decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
