Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Theodor Isaacks! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dama Sailo! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Isaacks lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Dama Sailo has been cut. A cross from Isaacks lands. Sailo takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A jab lands there for Isaacks. Isaacks connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sailo's hands. Isaacks ducks down and throws a hook to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sailo on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Sailo fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sailo is defended easily by Isaacks. Sailo misses with an uppercut. Isaacks saw that one coming. Sailo fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Theodor Isaacks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dama Sailo. Sailo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Isaacks looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Sailo working away. Sailo throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Isaacks is trying to get back to half guard. Isaacks on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Isaacks tries to get out of the position. Sailo swings around for an armbar but Isaacks sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Sailo's guard. Sailo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Sailo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Isaacks is aware though and is defending well. Isaacks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sailo on the ground. Sailo wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Isaacks is now in half guard. Well, if Isaacks is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sailo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Isaacks pulls his head out easily. Isaacks missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Isaacks wants to pass to mount but Sailo is defending the position. Isaacks is trying to control. Sailo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Isaacks missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Sailo is looking for a sweep. Isaacks is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Isaacks tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sailo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Sailo blocking the ground and pound attempt from Isaacks. Isaacks wants to take a breather but Sailo is having none of it. Isaacks throws a big elbow that misses. Isaacks is looking to work some ground and pound but Sailo has wrist control. Sailo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Sailo is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Isaacks rolls with it to try and escape but Sailo cranks on the arm and Isaacks is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
