With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Batista!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Danos throws a series of punches but Batista avoids them all with ease.
Batista fails to land with a series of punches.
Batista blocks a head kick by Al Danos.
Batista connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Batista dips to his left and cracks Al Danos with an uppercut!

Batista takes the fight into the clinch.

Al Danos tries to keep at a distance but Batista has taken the fight into the clinch.
Al Danos wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Al Danos scores with a nice hook to the head.

Batista manages to break the clinch.
Batista misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Batista will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Batista throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Al Danos.

Batista will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Al Danos up against the cage.

Al Danos doesn't manage to clinch there - Batista circles away.
Rafael Al Danos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Al Danos lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Batista circles away quickly and effectively.
Al Danos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Batista darts in and clinches Al Danos up against the cage.

Batista gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Batista breaks the clinch.

Batista throws a right hand that Al Danos ducks under and follows up with a left that Al Danos also avoids with ease.
Batista misses with a double jab.
Al Danos on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Batista connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Al Danos lands with a nice combination. Batista backs away looking to recover.


It looks like Diego Batista has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Al Danos tries to clinch

and Batista counters with a crisp one two that drops Al Danos! Batista thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Al Danos to his feet! Al Danos is in big trouble!


Al Danos is rocked!
Batista circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Al Danos to the canvas! Al Danos doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Batista keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Diego Batista!
