Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Leo Barros! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dai Hard! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barros shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Hard tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hard seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Barros is stalling in the full guard. Hard utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Barros missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hard manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Barros manages to get himself to full guard.
Hard trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Barros is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Barros working for a triangle but Hard defends it easily.
Barros can't keep his opponent in guard - Hard advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hard is trying to control the action in half guard but Barros is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Hard is looking for a kimura here.

Hard uses his free foot to push down on Barros's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Barros.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hard misses with a head shot. Barros keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Barros bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Hard is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Barros controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Barros seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hard for as long as he can get away with. Hard had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Barros defends it easily. Hard trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barros preventing the sweep. Hard is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Barros sitting in guard, not really doing much. Barros throws a big elbow that misses. Barros keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hard's head. Barros wants to control from the top but Hard keeps moving. Barros is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Hard working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barros doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barros manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Hard had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Barros defends it easily.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Barros working some strikes from top position. Hard working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Barros has passed into half guard!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hard tries to hold on but Barros postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Leo Barros will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hard takes a kick to the side of the head. A nice inside leg kick there by Hard. That's going to slow Barros down. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hard is defended easily by Barros. Barros scores with a hook to the body. Hard takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Hard drops his hands momentarily and Barros takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Barros feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hard's calf. Barros scores with a head kick.
Hard throws a front kick aimed at Barros's knee but Barros avoids it well. Nice cross by Barros. Barros throws a solid leg kick but Hard takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Barros. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Barros throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Barros jabs at Hard's body. Hard shoots for a double leg takedown but Barros sprawls well. He's pushed Hard's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hard uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Barros.
Barros cracks Hard with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Barros throws a leg kick which misses Hard's front leg but catches the back leg as Hard tries to avoid it. A clash of legs there as Barros blocks the low kick. Hard throws a leg kick but Barros moved away. Hard fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Barros avoids it really well and circles away. Leo Barros has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dai Hard. Hard misses with the body kick and Barros counters with a nice kick to the body. Barros throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hard tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Barros is in Hard's guard. Leo Barros overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Barros throwing strikes from guard but Hard blocks nicely. Barros lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Hard had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Barros defends it easily. Hard is breathing heavily. Barros trying to control but Hard is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hard looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barros is one step ahead there. Barros is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Barros is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Barros keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hard's head.
Hard is rocked! Barros postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Hard is still in real trouble! Can Barros finish him? Barros loads up on a big left hand. Hard felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Barros looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Hard can't hide his disappointment, as Barros celebrates the victory.
