Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alexio Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toru Ohta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva's entrance music is Pride Theme. A fine choice. Ohta has chosen Technopolis as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Alexio Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

10 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Alexio Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Toru Ohta!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Taro Takaoka and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ohta scores with a jab to the head.
Ohta throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Silva cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Silva ducks right into an uppercut from Ohta.
Ohta throws a looping overhand right but Silva ducks down to avoid it.
Ohta misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ohta drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Ohta is rocked!
A looping hook to the body misses from Silva. Ohta does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ohta fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Silva, pushing him back against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silva tightens his grip and picks Ohta up, before dumping him to the ground. Ohta manages to land in guard.

Silva content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ohta is on top in guard.
Ohta avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Silva is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ohta is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ohta gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Silva is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ohta defends well.

Toru Ohta has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Silva swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Silva moves out of range of the strikes.

A shot to the liver by Ohta. Beautiful body shot.
Silva connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Ohta's hands.
Ohta just misses with a punch to the body.
Ohta wants to clinch but Silva slips to the side
and Silva counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ohta is still on wobbly legs! Can Silva finish him?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ohta lands a body shot.
Ohta seems to have recovered his senses.
Toru Ohta is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva throws a lazy right hand but Ohta sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Silva fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Ohta throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Silva sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Silva moves out of range as Ohta strikes.
Ohta throws a shot from downtown. Silva moves away and avoids it.
Silva lands a leg kick that knocks Ohta off balance momentarily.
Ohta avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Silva fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ohta manages to avoid it.
Silva throws a big shot that misses.
Silva keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ohta.
Ohta tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Silva manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ohta is looking to clinch but Silva is avoiding it.
Silva lands with a cross.
Silva throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silva throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The fighters circling - Ohta throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Silva uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ohta has time to react.
Silva swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Toru Ohta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ohta looks to land a combination but Silva avoids it well.
Silva scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Jab, jab by Silva - just one landing.
Ohta throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ohta swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Silva scores with a shot to the body.
Ohta closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Silva scores with the left hand. Ohta knows he should have avoided that one.
Silva is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ohta, as that shot connected.
Silva finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Silva lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Silva ducks under a wild hook from Ohta.
Silva fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Ohta to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Ohta looks to clinch but Silva throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Ohta taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Alexio Silva!
After winning the bout, Alexio Silva thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
