Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kurtis Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Rand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danny Rand is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kurtis Miller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Danny Rand! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller swings for the body but Rand moves out of range.
Miller tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rand paws at him with a jab and circles away. Rand drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Rand decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Miller doesn't succeed with the takedown and Rand counters with a nice kick to the body. Miller shoots and misses so Rand counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kurtis Miller. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rand trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Rand throwing strikes but missing. Rand tries to free his leg and advance position but Miller is retaining full guard. Rand trying to control the position from guard on top but Miller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rand won't allow Miller to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller is looking for a triangle but Rand pushes his legs off easily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Rand changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Miller tries to avoid it but Rand manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Miller to the ground. Miller escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Miller with a lazy takedown attempt and Rand counters with a nice double leg into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miller keeping moving, preventing Rand from controlling successfully. Rand trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Miller manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miller stands and steps away. Rand gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Rand fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Kurtis Miller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rand buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Miller tries to work over Rand's front leg with a kick but Rand checks it. Miller has his takedown stuffed and Rand counters with a shoot takedown. Miller fights it but they end up in guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Rand decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Rand looks gassed! Miller with a poor takedown and Rand counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Miller really is a fat lump. Rand trying to control the position from guard on top but Miller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Miller trying to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rand is looking to work some ground and pound but Miller has wrist control. Rand trying to control but Miller is working from the bottom. Miller is trying to control the position but Rand postures up. Miller trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Rand wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving. Miller is trying to control the position but Rand postures up. Miller might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Miller misses with the combination.
Miller swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rand counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Miller keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Miller is trying to maintain the position but Rand is very close to passing his half guard. Rand throws a strike but Miller avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Rand wants to stand but Miller has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Miller wants to get back to his feet but Rand is in a dominant position and won't allow it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rand trying to control the position from guard on top but Miller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Rand dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Rand stuffs the takedown attempt from Miller. Miller gets slowly back to his feet. Miller has his takedown stuffed so Rand counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Rand wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving. Miller is working an open guard so Rand takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Rand looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Miller is rocked! Rand is in close to Miller's body, working some short punches and elbows. Oh Miller is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Rand lands a couple of decent looking shots. Rand lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Rand passes into side control.
Rand is breathing heavily. Rand working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Rand looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Rand decides to take the fight back to the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rand connects with a nice cross there... Miller is looking wobbly and Rand recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Miller to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Rand jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
