Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gimli Gloin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson has chosen Hustlin as his entrance music. Shane Jackson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gimli Gloin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shane Jackson! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gloin throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Jackson counters by moving into the clinch. Jackson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jackson lands a leg kick that knocks Gloin off balance momentarily. Gloin on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Gloin misses with a straight left. Gloin scores with a jab to the head.
It looks like Shane Jackson has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gloin swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jackson moves in looking to clinch but Gloin pushes him off. Gloin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jackson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gloin. Jackson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gloin.
Jackson throws a leg kick but Gloin sees it coming and moves out of range. The fight stays on the outside here - Jackson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Jackson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson jumps into guard, dragging Gloin to the mat.
Gloin looking to pass the guard. Gloin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jackson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gloin has Jackson in his guard. Gloin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jackson is one step ahead there. Jackson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson won't allow Gloin to sweep him here. Jackson wants to pass the guard but Gloin is keeping the position. Gloin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jackson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Jackson is looking to work some ground and pound but Gloin has wrist control. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gloin is on top in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jackson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth. Jackson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Gloin tries to free his leg and advance position but Jackson is retaining full guard. Jackson uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Jackson moves away from the strike by Gloin.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gloin jabbing away but nothing is landing. Gloin jabbing away but nothing is landing. Jackson wants to clinch up but Gloin keeps it at a distance. Gloin throws a right hand that Jackson ducks under and follows up with a left that Jackson also avoids with ease. Gloin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jackson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Gloin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Jackson moves forwards but Gloin connects with a nice, crisp jab. Jackson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gloin slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Gloin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jackson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jackson wants to control from the top but Gloin keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gloin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jackson is aware though and is defending well. Jackson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Jackson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Gloin working for a triangle but Jackson defends it easily.
Gloin looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Jackson's corner is telling him to maintain position. Gloin isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jackson stacks Gloin on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jackson! Gloin gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Gloin works his way to full guard. Good work. Gloin has his foot on Jackson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jackson works his way back into a safe position though. Jackson wants to control from the top but Gloin keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gimli Gloin dominated that round. The cut man is working on Shane Jackson's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch but Gloin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Jackson throws a body punch but Gloin moves out of range. Gloin throws a shot from downtown. Jackson moves away and avoids it. Jackson dives in and scores a takedown into Gloin's guard. Jackson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Jackson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Gimli Gloin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gloin tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jackson tries to free his leg and advance position but Gloin is retaining full guard. Jackson wants to control from the top but Gloin keeps moving. Jackson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gloin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jackson has managed to get both his arms back between Gloin's legs - danger averted. Jackson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jackson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jackson's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Jackson tries to free his leg and advance position but Gloin is retaining full guard. Jackson scoring with punches to the head and body. Jackson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gloin is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Jackson has his hands clasped together but Gloin extends an breaks Jackson's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Gloin.
