Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tranus Vonglolia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jun Akiyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jun Akiyama is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tranus Vonglolia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jun Akiyama! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vonglolia misses the shot to the body. Vonglolia shoots in looking for a takedown but Akiyama manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vonglolia's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Vonglolia defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Akiyama. Vonglolia with a poor takedown and Akiyama counters with a nice double leg into guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Akiyama throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Vonglolia works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Vonglolia wriggles free and stands up. Vonglolia closes the distance looking to clinch and Akiyama counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Vonglolia's guard now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Vonglolia wants to sweep but no luck. Akiyama in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Vonglolia catches Akiyama with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Akiyama moves into the clinch. Akiyama is pressed up against the cage. Vonglolia has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Akiyama down to the mat. Akiyama avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tranus Vonglolia. That's going to take a lot out of him. Akiyama shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vonglolia as he avoids it easily. Vonglolia shoots in for a takedown. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Akiyama is nestled in close to Vonglolia, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Akiyama is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Vonglolia has managed to free his arm - good work. Akiyama throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Vonglolia trying to control but Akiyama postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Akiyama drops an elbow to the side of Vonglolia's head. Vonglolia taking some punishment here, with Akiyama in his half guard. Vonglolia is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Akiyama scores with a couple of nice shots. Akiyama wants to control but Vonglolia is keeping him busy. Vonglolia is not content to let Akiyama control the position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Akiyama slips a nice elbow through Vonglolia's hands, connecting with Vonglolia's forehead. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Akiyama seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Vonglolia is trying to get back to full guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Akiyama lands a nice short elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vonglolia throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Akiyama dives in and scores a takedown into Vonglolia's guard. Akiyama content to stall in guard here. Akiyama wants to control from the top but Vonglolia keeps moving. Akiyama manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Vonglolia closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vonglolia lands in his opponent's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Tranus Vonglolia wasn't doing enough on the ground. Akiyama throws a sloppy head kick and Vonglolia moves out of range easily. Akiyama is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Vonglolia's half guard. Akiyama sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Akiyama takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akiyama lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Vonglolia is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Akiyama scores with a couple of nice shots. Vonglolia is pressing down on Akiyama's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Akiyama wants to control from the top but Vonglolia keeps moving. Akiyama drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Akiyama jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Vonglolia keeping moving, preventing Akiyama from controlling successfully. Akiyama showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Akiyama stands up over Vonglolia, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Akiyama in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Vonglolia isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Akiyama stacks Vonglolia on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Akiyama! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Akiyama working the ground and pound. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Akiyama working the head and body with strikes. Akiyama is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Vonglolia knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Vonglolia sneaks back into half guard. Jun Akiyama showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Akiyama drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vonglolia can't do much from the bottom here. Vonglolia tries to get back to half guard but can't. Vonglolia prevents Akiyama from improving position. Akiyama lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Vonglolia down.
Vonglolia wants to get back to his feet but Akiyama drags him back down. Akiyama really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vonglolia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Vonglolia prevents Akiyama from moving into mount. Akiyama working the head and body with strikes.

Akiyama working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Akiyama is working Vonglolia over with some ground and pound from side control. Vonglolia tries to buck Akiyama off but Akiyama is having none of it. Vonglolia is not content to let Akiyama control the position. Akiyama lands a few punches from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vonglolia struggling a bit here. Akiyama sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Vonglolia is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Akiyama is working Vonglolia over with some ground and pound from side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Akiyama lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Vonglolia regains half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Akiyama slips a nice elbow through Vonglolia's hands, connecting with Vonglolia's forehead. Vonglolia keeps control of the position for the meantime. Akiyama is looking to take a break and control but Vonglolia is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akiyama looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Vonglolia with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Akiyama trying to control from half guard but Vonglolia is working away. Vonglolia taking some punishment here, with Akiyama in his half guard. Vonglolia slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Akiyama throws a big elbow that misses. Jun Akiyama has got the better of the ground game so far.

Akiyama lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Vonglolia keeping moving, preventing Akiyama from controlling successfully. Tranus Vonglolia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jun Akiyama is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Akiyama stands up over Vonglolia, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
