Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hazel Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Garza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garza has chosen Mirror as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matt Garza! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murphy throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Garza looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Murphy chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Murphy throws a sloppy head kick and Garza moves out of range easily. Garza throws a lazy head kick and Murphy counters with a flying knee. Nice. Garza on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Murphy scores with a slapping inside leg kick. A nice leg kick lands there from Murphy. Murphy is looking to slow Garza down with leg kicks. Garza does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Garza has taken the fight to the clinch.
Murphy trying to control the position but instead, Garza has worked for underhooks and has pushed Murphy into the cage. Murphy tries to break free but Garza pushes him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garza has Murphy pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Murphy manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. A frustrated look appears on Murphy's face as he tries to break the clinch. Garza pulls guard effortlessly. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Murphy trying to control but Garza is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Garza has a closed guard, preventing Murphy from standing up. Murphy looking to pass the guard. Murphy trying to control the position from guard on top but Garza is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Murphy trying to stand up but can't free himself from Garza's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Hazel Murphy. A nice inside leg kick there by Murphy. That's going to slow Garza down. Murphy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Garza moves away. Murphy throws a sloppy head kick and Garza counters with a head kick. That will keep Murphy thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Hazel Murphy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Murphy throws a head kick that Garza semi-blocks.

Hazel Murphy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Danga de danga de dang - Garza scores with a four punch combination! Murphy pivots, looking for a leg kick but Garza is out of range and Murphy settles back down.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murphy lands a nice leg kick that just misses Garza's sensitive parts. Murphy looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
That kick from Murphy tenderised Garza's leg. Garza is trying to keep his angry face on. Garza looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Garza tries to pass to full mount but Murphy defends it. Garza is working for a kimura but Murphy is defending it quite comfortably.
Garza stands up out of the half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Murphy fakes the leg kick and cracks Garza in the body. Garza has Murphy up against the cage in a clinch.
Garza breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Murphy fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. A kick lands to the mid section there for Murphy. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Murphy scores with a nice body kick.
Garza's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Garza throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Garza tries to clinch there but Murphy circles away.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Hazel Murphy will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Murphy moves into range and connects with a jab. Garza shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Murphy pinned against the cage. Murphy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Murphy throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Murphy thows a body kick. Garza tries to catch it but that hurt him. Murphy lands a high kick!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Murphy throws a head kick that Garza semi-blocks.
Matt Garza is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Murphy feints and then cracks Garza's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Garza down. Garza tries a head kick but it misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murphy cracks the inside of Garza's front leg. Murphy thows a left - swing and a miss! Garza uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Murphy. Murphy throws a nice outside leg kick. Murphy misses with a wild body shot. Murphy dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Garza. That did some damage! A solid leg kick lands there for Murphy.
Murphy throws a nice looking combination but Garza bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Garza throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Murphy was covering up waiting for the punch and Garza finishes the takedown easily into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Garza distracts Murphy with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garza slips nicely into half guard. Garza is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Garza is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Murphy is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Matt Garza! After the fight, Matt Garza was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
