The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shanks shoots in for a double leg but Martin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Martin lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Bellerophon Shanks has been cut.

Horrible takedown by Martin or perhaps it was just good defense by Shanks which made him look bad.
Shanks misses with a takedown attempt - Martin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Martin shoots for a double leg takedown but Shanks sprawls well. He's pushed Martin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Shanks throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Martin's waist but Martin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shanks off to one side.

Martin wants the takedown. Shanks is fighting it off but Martin persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Shanks's guard against the cage.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Shanks wants to hit a switch here but Martin passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Shanks there!
Martin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Shanks is trying to reverse the position but instead Martin has taken his back - oops!
