Doofenschmertz is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rob Schultz ! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Ivan Kurochkin and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big left from Schultz misses. Doofenschmertz fails in his attempt to clinch. Doofenschmertz really is a fat lump. Doofenschmertz is breathing heavily. Schultz pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Schultz darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Schultz winds up and cracks Doofenschmertz with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Schultz lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Schultz takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Schultz scores with a couple of good hammerfists. This has been an exciting period of action! Schultz working Doofenschmertz over with strikes. Doofenschmertz on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Doofenschmertz tries to get out of the position. Schultz sitting and controlling from the half guard. Schultz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Schultz in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Doofenschmertz tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Schultz !
