Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mason Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edgar ducks under a wild hook from Thomas.
Edgar throws a head kick that misses.
Thomas uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Edgar.
Thomas wants to land a leg kick but Edgar is out of range.

Frankie Edgar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Edgar throws a series of punches but Thomas avoids them all with ease.

Good leg kick by Edgar there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Edgar fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Thomas has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Thomas tries to land a front kick but Edgar steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Edgar seems to have recovered his senses.
Thomas drops Edgar with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Edgar looks back up at him and smiles so Thomas waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
It looks like Frankie Edgar has been cut.

Edgar takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Thomas shoots in looking for a takedown. Edgar tries to sprawl out of it but Thomas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Edgar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Edgar is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Edgar has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Thomas.

Thomas fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Edgar looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Thomas shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Edgar's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
