Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rick Peters will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dave Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rick Peters!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peters swats away the attempt to clinch by Jackson.
Peters moves out of range of the strikes.
Peters fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jackson avoids it really well and circles away.
Jackson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Peters defends it nicely.
Jackson avoids the head kick by Peters.

Jackson dives in and scores a takedown into Peters's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Peters looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Peters has his foot on Jackson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jackson works his way back into a safe position though.

Jackson is taking a breather. Peters says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jackson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Peters throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jackson throws a right hand that Peters ducks under and follows up with a left that Peters also avoids with ease.

Peters tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jackson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Peters somewhat.

Jackson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jackson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Jackson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Peters is aware though and is defending well.

Peters missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Dave Jackson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Jackson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Peters sprawls well initially but Jackson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Peters looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Jackson pushes past his half guard into mount!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Peters sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

You get the feeling that Peters really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Jackson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jackson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Peters is fending him off so far but Jackson persists. Nope, Peters circles away and we're back to standing.

Peters feints a jab promting Jackson to slip. Peters then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Jackson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Peters shoots in and drives through. Jackson sprawls well.
Peters shoots for a takedown but Jackson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Peters will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Peters takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Jackson closes the distance and clinches.

Peters is fighting off a takedown attempt but Jackson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Peters to the mat. Peters regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Jackson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

A very excited looking Dave Jackson rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
