Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vasara Hai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grigoriev Maxim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Maxim's choice of entrance music: Dolphin feat Stella - Eyes. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vasara Hai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Grigoriev Maxim!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hai drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Maxim throws a good cross that connects.
Maxim ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Hai misses with a takedown attempt
and Maxim counters with a straight right hand.
Maxim stuffs the takedown attempt from Hai. Hai gets slowly back to his feet.

Hai closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Maxim is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hai is controlling him well.

Hai cracks Maxim with a big right hand but Maxim just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The strikes coming from Hai are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

It looks like Grigoriev Maxim has been cut.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hai is looking to take a break and control but Maxim is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hai has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Maxim wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Hai tries to score with some ground and pound. Maxim controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Maxim can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hai is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Maxim has escaped the position, nice work there.
Maxim takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Maxim is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Hai in side control lands a decent elbow.


That has opened up Grigoriev Maxim's cut even more.
Hai lands a few punches from side control.


The cut above Grigoriev Maxim's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Maxim is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hai is controlling him well.

Maxim throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Hai shoots in for a double leg but Maxim sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vasara Hai. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hai tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Maxim swivels and escapes.

Maxim uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hai has time to react.
Vasara Hai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hai fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hai tries to score a power double leg takedown but Maxim sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hai somewhat.
Hai shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Maxim sprawls well. Maxim wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hai gets slowly back to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hai doesn't manage to clinch there - Maxim circles away.

Hai drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vasara Hai dominated that round.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Hai changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Maxim looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hai lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Maxim down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maxim is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hai is controlling him well.

Maxim wants to get back to his feet but Hai is dominant here and he's now got Maxim's back!
Maxim has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

Hai is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Maxim knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Maxim for a finish.
Maxim is breathing heavily.

A lull in the action here.
Hai scores with punches and elbows.
Maxim is trying to get back to his feet but Hai has full control of the position and if anything, Maxim has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Maxim covers up after that shot from Hai.
Hai punches Maxim on the ear.
Hai lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Maxim hold on?!


Grigoriev Maxim's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Grigoriev Maxim's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Vasara Hai!
After the fight, Vasara Hai was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
