Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peekay Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dewey Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams comes into the arena with Noise Won't Stop blaring out of the sound system. Cox has chosen Guilty As Charged as his entrance music. Dewey Cox struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.8lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peekay Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dewey Cox! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cox scores with a leg kick.
Cox throws a head kick but Williams moves out of range.
Williams thuds a left hand into Cox's body. Williams tries to keep at a distance but Cox has taken the fight into the clinch. Williams is trying to break the clinch but Cox has him pressed against the cage. Cox blocks the elbow strike.
Williams wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Williams breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cox takes one on the button. Cox misses with a double jab
and Williams counters with a good low kick that Cox was not able to check. Williams misses with a double jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice body punch from Williams. Williams stuffs the takedown attempt from Cox. Cox gets slowly back to his feet. Cox's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Williams connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Cox scrambles back to his feet. Williams really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Williams tries for a takedown but Cox sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. A combination from Cox does no damage. Cox takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Cox shoots in for a takedown but Williams shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Williams's jab looks to have found its range, popping Cox under the eye. Williams scores with a punch to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Cox slips a straight right by Williams. Cox shoots in but Williams avoids the takedown attempt easily. Peekay Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dewey Cox. Cox displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Williams. Cox blocks a jab. Williams dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Cox takes one to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Williams keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Cox shoots in and drives through. Williams sprawls well. Dewey Cox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cox takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Cox throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Williams tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cox is in Williams's guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Williams is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Williams looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cox with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Williams will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams wants to free his trapped foot but Cox is holding on for dear life with his legs. Williams thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cox's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cox has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Williams is working away from the top position though. Williams is looking to take a break and control but Cox is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Williams wants to work for an arm triangle but Cox is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Williams prevents Cox from improving his position. Cox is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Williams's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Williams's back! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Peekay Williams dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Cox shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Williams defends it nicely. Williams takes a swing at Cox's ribcage but misses. Cox shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Cox will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Peekay Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dewey Cox. Cox tries to close the distance and clinch but Williams swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Cox gets the takedown into side control. Williams is trying to control Cox's posture but Cox avoids it. Williams on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Williams tries to get out of the position. Cox tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams is looking for a sweep. Williams throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Cox is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Williams knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Williams manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Williams tries to roll over but Cox keeps him under control. Williams slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams looking for a sweep. Not yet Williams, not yet. Williams is adopting a defensive guard. Williams has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Cox has passed into side control.
Williams is looking to reverse the position. Cox tries to advance to mount but can't. Cox trying to control the position but Williams is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cox controlling from side mount. Cox trying to control the position but Williams is working away. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dewey Cox wasn't active enough on the ground. Williams ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cox moves away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Williams comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Peekay Williams will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Williams not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Williams wants to free his trapped foot but Cox is holding on for dear life with his legs. Williams stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Cox shoots in but Williams avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams lunges at Cox with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Cox's hand. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Cox. Williams scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Cox fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Peekay Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dewey Cox. Cox throws a low kick but Williams avoids it. Cox on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Williams has had enough of the clinch but Cox keeps him there for the moment. Cox keeps control of Williams as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Dewey Cox has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Cox wants to take the fight to the mat but Williams manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Cox is trying to drag Williams to the mat but Williams just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Cox lands a takedown into guard.
Williams looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cox is one step ahead there. Williams is trying to keep Cox in close.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams wants to sweep but no luck. Cox trying to control the position from guard on top but Williams is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Cox looks to score with a jab to the body but Williams is just out of range. Peekay Williams is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Peekay Williams is winning the standup battle so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Williams with a jab.
And that's the end of the fight! Peekay Williams showed his dominance in that final round. Well Williams has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
