Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Amir Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russell Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Amir Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Russell Jones!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively.
Khan moves away from the strike by Jones.
Jones fails in his attempt to clinch.
A head kick from Khan lands but Jones takes it in his stride.
Jones throws a leg kick but Khan sees it coming and moves out of range.
Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Khan was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones.
Jab, jab by Khan - just one landing.
Khan lands a nice looking body shot.
Khan moves out of range of the leg kick from Jones.
Khan blocks a head kick by Jones.
Jones tries to land a leg kick but Khan saw it coming and moves away.
No luck for Jones with that takedown attempt.
Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Khan's waist but Khan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.

Jones takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Jones scores with a jab to the jaw.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Khan.
Amir Khan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Russell Jones.
Khan throws a series of strikes that have Jones backpedaling.


It looks like Russell Jones has been cut.
Russell Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slapping leg kick lands for Khan.
A bone on bone clash there as Khan blocks the leg kick.
Khan cracks Jones with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jones sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Jones goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Khan scores with a nice head shot.
Jones misses with a low kick.
Khan scores with a jab to the body.
Khan lands the left hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Khan throws a nice inside leg kick.
Jones takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Khan takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Jones darts in trying to clinch
and Khan counters with a one-two to the body.
Jones looks for the body kick but Khan saw that one coming.
Jones tries a head kick but it misses.

Khan takes one to the side of the head.
Khan lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Khan scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Khan scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Amir Khan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jones walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Khan checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Jones throws a leg kick but Khan sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Sloppy strikes from Khan. Those never looked like landing.
No luck for Jones with that takedown attempt.
Jones gets off balance looking for a body kick
enabling Khan to counter with a crisp jab.
Khan avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Jones showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Khan.

Khan lands with a thumping leg kick.
Jones misses with a takedown
and Khan counters with a series of strikes. Jones will be more careful next time no doubt.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Khan blocks a head kick by Jones.
Jones tries to clinch up.
Khan lands a slapping body shot.
Jones misses with a leg kick
and Khan counters with a head kick. That will keep Jones thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A nice combination there by Khan.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jones is trying desperately to land a takedown but Khan is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Jones.
Khan scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Khan counters with a good low kick that Jones was not able to check.
Khan misses with a combination
and Jones counters with a body kick that stops Khan in his tracks momentarily.
Jones throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Khan.
Khan scores with the left hand. Jones knows he should have avoided that one.

Jones throws a push kick but Khan slaps the foot to one side.

Jones drives through with a takedown into Khan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Khan tries to escape but Jones is in control.

Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Jones is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Khan has escaped the position, nice work there.
Jones staying calm.

Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Khan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Khan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jones wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Jones is looking to take a break and control but Khan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
You can see the frustration on Khan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Jones is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Khan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Jones is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Khan has escaped the position, nice work there.

and Khan counters with a series of strikes. Jones will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Khan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Khan's jab looks to have found its range, popping Jones under the eye.
Jones moves out of range of the strikes.
Amir Khan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Khan digs a good hook to Jones's body.
Khan connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Jones throws a head kick that misses.
Jones takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Khan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Khan throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Khan bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jones's head.
Jones has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Jones looks to throw the jab but Khan is out of range.
Khan scores with a jab to the jaw.
Jones fails with the takedown
and Khan counters with an outside leg kick.
Jones tries to clinch up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Khan avoids it really well and circles away.

The fighters circle momentarily. Khan darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Khan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Khan swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones.
Jones fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Khan checks it well.
Khan buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Khan shows good takedown defense.
Khan goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Jones tries to move into range but Khan moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Khan connects with an inside leg kick.
A head kick misses from Khan.
Nice uppercut lands for Khan. That snapped Jones's head back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Khan connects with a solid leg kick.
Jones misses with a low kick.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Jones.
Jones does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Khan lands with a shot to the body.
Jones looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jones fails with a takedown attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
Amir Khan showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Khan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
