Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erik Redd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Redd is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: BIG SHIT POPPIN TI. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Li! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Erik Redd! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Redd looks for a takedown but Li sprawls well. Li shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Redd is trying to defend but Li finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Li looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Li thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Li is just content to waste time from the top position. Redd takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Li tries to free his leg and advance position but Redd is retaining full guard. Li missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Redd striking off his back but it's not causing Li any problems. Redd looking for a sweep. Not yet Redd, not yet. Li wants to control from the top but Redd keeps moving. Redd is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Li is aware though and is defending well. Li stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Redd swivels though and keeps the full guard. Li is looking to advance position but Redd has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Redd is standing up, even though he is in mount. Redd looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Redd shoots in but no luck this time. Chris Li has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Erik Redd.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Li. No joy for Redd on that attempt. Redd shoots in looking for a takedown. Li tries to sprawl out of it but Redd keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Li manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Redd changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Li tries to avoid it but Redd manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Li to the ground. Li escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Redd looks gassed! Li shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Li showed some decent athleticism there. This has been an exciting period of action! Redd wants to get back to full guard. Li is pressing down on Redd's thigh, looking to free his foot. Redd is holding on for now. Li keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Redd is defending against the submission attempts here by Li.
Redd is trying to maintain the position but Li is very close to passing his half guard. Li wants to lay and pray for a moment but Redd keeps working. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Redd wants to improve his position but Li is controlling well.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Chris Li. Redd fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Li throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Redd tries to keep at a distance but Li has taken the fight into the clinch. Li prevents Redd from breaking the clinch. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Li breaks from the clinch.
Redd avoids a punch combination nicely.
Li drives through with a takedown into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Li dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Redd is defended easily by Li. Redd shoots in but no luck this time. Redd uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Li.
Redd gets caught napping as Li dives in and scores a takedown. Redd manages to retain guard. Li trying to stand up but can't free himself from Redd's guard. Redd throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

That's one minute gone in the round. Redd wants to sweep here but Li controlling him for the moment. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Redd is trying to control the position but Li postures up.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Erik Redd was stalling too much, according to the referee. Redd shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Li as he jumps to the side. Chris Li has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Erik Redd. Li gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Li has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Redd is trying to keep an underhook but Li manages to get the takedown into half guard. Redd trying to control but Li postures up.

Li seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Redd tries to get to full guard but Li has control of the leg.

A much better position for Redd. Li trying to control but Redd is working from the bottom. Li looking to sit in guard and control but Redd gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Redd decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Li, up you get!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Redd looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Li is fending him off so far but Redd persists. Nope, Li circles away and we're back to standing. Li fails to land with a series of punches.

Redd is breathing heavily. Redd fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Redd has a takedown stuffed. A nice inside leg kick there by Li. That's going to slow Redd down. Li closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Li lands in his opponent's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Li trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Li dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Redd enables Li to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Redd manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Redd trying to control the position.
Redd has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Li can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Redd keeping full guard, as Li tries to pass. Li missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Redd has his hands on Li's head, controlling the position. Redd wants to control but Li passes easily into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Li passes to side control. Li decides to stand back up. Li steps back and let's Redd get back to his feet. Li displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Redd. Redd takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Redd tries to score a power double leg takedown but Li sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Redd somewhat. Li decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Redd looks like he's trying to stand up.
Erik Redd has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Li thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Redd's head. Li frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Li working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Li throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Redd because Li loaded up on that one. Redd has given up his back. Will we see Li going for some submissions?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Li patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Li controls the action. Li is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Redd defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Li controlling the position well here. Redd rolled but Li kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

And that's the end of the fight! Chris Li showed his dominance in that final round. Well Li has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
