Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between joel silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlo Dedoduro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
silva looks for a takedown but Dedoduro sprawls well.
silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dedoduro's waist but Dedoduro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing silva off to one side.

Dedoduro has control of silva's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and silva regains control of the situation pretty easily.
silva tries to lock up and control but Dedoduro gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
silva could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dedoduro is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But silva has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from silva!

Dedoduro bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dedoduro uses his free foot to push down on silva's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for silva.

silva might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Dedoduro postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. silva looks a forlorn figure.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Carlo Dedoduro showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting silva here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
silva stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
