Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kojii Takashii!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fook Yoo!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takashii shoots in and drives through. Yoo sprawls well.
Yoo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Takashii.
Kojii Takashii seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yoo gets caught flat footed, as Takashii shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Takashii drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Takashii jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Takashii forces his way into half guard.
Takashii has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Takashii jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Yoo manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Takashii in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Takashii could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Takashii has hold of Yoo's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Yoo seems comfortable defending it but Takashii has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Yoo is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Yoo is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Takashii couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Kojii Takashii!
After winning the bout, Kojii Takashii thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
