The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riviera throws a chopping leg kick but Worley manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Worley uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Riviera.
No joy there for Worley, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Riviera misses with an uppercut. Worley saw that one coming.
Worley fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Riviera.
A slapping leg kick lands for Worley.
Riviera on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Riviera shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Worley as he avoids it easily.
Worley checks the leg kick nicely there.
Riviera stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Worley.
Riviera has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Worley.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Riviera does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Worley throws a series of punches but Riviera avoids them all with ease.

Riviera feints and as Worley raises his hands in defense, Riviera changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Riviera prevents Worley from getting back to his feet.
Riviera pushes down on Worley's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Riviera uses his free foot to push down on Worley's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Worley.
Worley stops Riviera from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters circle momentarily. Worley darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Worley stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Worley wants it to stay on the feet.

Worley stalks Riviera and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Riviera's face. Riviera staggers backwards, shaken.

Worley cracks Riviera with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
A left lands for Worley.
Worley lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Riviera tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Riviera avoids the head kick by Worley.
A big left from Riviera misses.
Riviera rushes Worley and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Worley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Worley throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Worley looks to land a combination but Riviera avoids it well.
Jab, jab by Worley - just one landing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Riviera takes a head kick and keeps coming.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cody Worley dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Riviera.
Worley has had enough of the clinch but Riviera keeps him there for the moment.
Riviera is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Riviera takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Riviera throws a punch but it's blocked by Worley.
Worley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Riviera throws a hook to the side of Worley's head but Worley sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Riviera is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Worley slips a jab and a cross from Riviera.
Riviera looks to throw the jab but Worley is out of range.
Riviera shoots for a takedown but Worley saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Worley feints a jab promting Riviera to slip. Worley then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Riviera slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Oooooh!!! Worley has knocked Riviera down with a huge combo! Worley steps away and waves a wobbly Riviera back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Oh Riviera is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Riviera chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Worley can pounce on him.
Worley tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Riviera seems to have got his legs back now.

Worley scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Worley feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Riviera's calf.
Cody Worley seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Worley fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Riviera has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Good leg kick by Worley there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Riviera has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Worley goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Worley! Riviera is out on his feet! Worley rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Riviera is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Riviera is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
