Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugh Jackman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hugh Jackman is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Thomas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hugh Jackman! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackman takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Jackman blocks a jab. Thomas throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Jackman on the side of the head. Thomas is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jackman. Jackman steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Thomas. Jackman keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Thomas. A looping hook to the body misses from Thomas. Jackman does a little dance to reset his feet. Jackman dives in and grabs Thomas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Thomas pushes down on Jackman's head and hops out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Thomas lands with an overhand left. Thomas misses with an uppercut
and Jackman counters with a two punch combo. Jackman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thomas as he jumps to the side. Thomas displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jackman. Brian Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hugh Jackman. Jackman closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackman shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jackman defending well as Thomas loads up on a big left hand. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Jackman slips a jab from Thomas. Nice sprawl there from Thomas as Jackman shoots in. Thomas cracks Jackman with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackman takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Brian Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jackman throws a nice looking combination but Thomas bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Thomas misses with a lunging right hand
and Jackman counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Thomas down! Jackman is looking to finish but Thomas is intelligently defending himself.
Thomas is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Jackman loads up on a big left hand. Thomas felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Jackman looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Thomas can't hide his disappointment, as Jackman celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hugh Jackman! A relieved looking Hugh Jackman thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
