Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Blaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blaze comes to the cage accompanied by The Dropkick Murphys-The Warriors Code. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blaze shoots for a double leg takedown but Smith sprawls well. He's pushed Blaze's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Blaze misses with a takedown attempt - Smith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Blaze throws a quick inside leg kick.
Blaze throws a nice looking combination but Smith bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Blaze fails to land with a series of punches.
Smith connects with a good right hand that stumbles Blaze. Blaze circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Smith takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Blaze wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Smith changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Blaze fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Blaze closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Blaze lands in his opponent's guard.
Blaze stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth.
