Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leo Bakelita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steele comes to the cage accompanied by Necro - No Remorse. Leo Bakelita has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ivan Steele!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Leo Bakelita!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steele fails with the takedown.

Steele looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Bakelita doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Bakelita keeping full guard, as Steele tries to pass.
Steele landing with the ground and pound.
Steele stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bakelita swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bakelita is trying to keep Steele in close.

Bakelita looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Steele is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bakelita is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bakelita has escaped and now he's on top!

Steele is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Bakelita changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Steele tries to avoid it but Bakelita manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Steele to the ground. Steele escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Steele tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bakelita swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Bakelita counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Steele has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bakelita can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Steele is breathing heavily.
Steele has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Bakelita has passed into side control.

Bakelita wants to lay and pray for a moment but Steele keeps working.

Bakelita decides to stand back up. Bakelita steps back and let's Steele get back to his feet.
Ivan Steele seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steele tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Bakelita counters with a stiff right hand.
Bakelita will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Steele gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Bakelita counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Bakelita pushes Steele back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Bakelita lands a nice elbow.
Steele looking to throw knees to the head but Bakelita is blocking nicely.

Bakelita successfully pulls guard.
Steele postures up.
Bakelita is pulling down on Steele's head. It's preventing any offense from Steele, at least for the moment.

Bakelita pushes Steele off and gets back to his feet.

Steele tries to keep at a distance but Bakelita has taken the fight into the clinch.

Bakelita is rocked!


It looks like Leo Bakelita has been cut.
Bakelita stalling in the clinch but Steele improves position.
Bakelita is trying to break free.
Steele with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Steele tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Bakelita tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Steele smiles and moves away.
Bakelita fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ivan Steele has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leo Bakelita.

and Bakelita counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Steele has his foot on Bakelita's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bakelita works his way back into a safe position though.
Bakelita wants to control from the top but Steele keeps moving.
Steele manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leo Bakelita dominated that round.

That's time! Steele's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Steele plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Steele tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bakelita swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Steele is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Steele shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Bakelita throwing hammer fists to the chest of Steele. What's that going to do exactly?

Steele goes for an armbar but Bakelita turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Bakelita.

Steele has momentary wrist control but Bakelita slips an elbow through the middle.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Steele has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Bakelita should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Steele has tightened it up now! Bakelita should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
